If there were a better dictionary online to quote from, I’d go with the cliché of starting this page with definitions. Instead, I guess I have to start with poetry.
I’ve lost count, so I’m just going to declare this as the fifth incarnation of Sentinel World. I named it because of a science fiction story, about the edge of an empire. Sort of like Hadrian’s Wall in England, but alive, and thinking. A place of unrestrained watchfulness. A place that is an edge to things, even when it’s in the center.
Poetry, see? I just picked the name because it sounded good. I didn’t know how well it fit till much later.
